An unexpected surprise was waiting for the customs officials who opened a couple in a Chinese airport. They reportedly found hundreds of live cockroaches in the box.
Beijing Youth Daily reported that security guards at South Guangdong Boon International Airport found that they were found to be moving inside the elderly couple's box when they checked the X-ray machine on November 25.
"There were black items in the white plastic bags," said security guard Ziy Yuyu, told Cancun News.
"When one of the staff opened the box, the cockroaches broke out, and he almost quarreled."
When asked by the elderly couple about the reasons for the transportation of these cockroaches, the husband said that he would use his wife's skin for medicine.
Husband did not mention the wife's physical condition.
But this method was explained to the authorities as part of the old folk medicine. Sue Yuy said that cockroaches were described in some medicines to be applied to the skin.
The couple had left the cottage chests to the customs department, because they were not allowed to carry the animals in the box. It's unclear what happened to the box, 'Beijing Youth Daily' reported.
This is not the first time that security officials take such an unexpected shock when doing X-ray testing.
Last August, a man who was carrying two human hands in the box was found by security personnel, as it was known to have a hand grenade in a bus stand X-ray.
