Five persons have been arrested yesterday in connection with the killing of a rare genus of elephant called "Tala Bhutwa" in Galgamuwa in Sri Lanka.
The Police Media Spokesperson's Office reports that they have been detained following investigations by two police teams appointed to investigate the incident.
The elephant, known as Calgamuwa Tal Bhutwa, has been reported to the Divisional People Safety Division and Forest Department Department following the disappearance of the past few days.
In this case, two of the elephants of the elephant have been arrested by the anti-corruption squad on the 23rd.
The police claimed that this was done by a Grama Niladhari and a former police officer who worked in the Polbilitigama Divisional Secretariat office.

During the search operation, a body similar to the elephant's body, known as the Tala Locka, was found on the 29th from the Pahalle Pallegale Forest.In this context, the police media spokesman said that seven people have been arrested and interrogated so far.
After the killing, the police recovered weapons allegedly used to cut the body parts of the elephant and the alleged gunman used to kill the elephant.
Specifically, elephants have been identified as being alive in the wild in 60 to 70 years.
The specialty of the elephant is the combination of two tigers together.
Government reports indicate that these rare species of elephants are only two or three.
At the same time, Sri Lanka has issued an order to the Criminal Investigation Division, Law, Order and South Development Minister, Sagala Ratnayake to investigate the killing of wild elephants in Sri Lanka.
Minister Sagala Ratnayake has been advised by the Police Officer, Senior Deputy Police Officer Ct.Wikaramaratne, to impose an act of impartiality against the people who kill and kill wild elephants.
