Though Tamil Nadu government has been asked to search for 150 Tamil Nadu fishermen in 15 boats and bring them to their homeland, Chief Secretary of Government of Tamil Nadu Girija Vaidyanathan wrote a letter to the Indian Foreign Department on 9th of this month. Girija Vaidyanathan said that the fishermen who disappeared in the middle of the sea could be in the attention of the state government in the Maldives Sea or its coastal areas.
The Kanyakumari fishermen of Tamil Nadu who disappeared during the Stokes storm could be left in the uninhabited small islands near Maldives. About 150 fishermen in 15 boats are said to be in different places. The Tamil Nadu Government has already requested the Indian Air Force to look for flights with the help of the Indian Air Force to assist the fishermen in search of fishermen, but to obtain permission from the Maldives It has been pointed out that the search operation has not begun due to delay.
