A powerful earthquake occurred in New Caledonia, the islands of the South Pacific.
An earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale hit New Caledonia in the southern Pacific island of Australia today, with an earthquake measuring 10km at the underside of the US Geological Center.
The tsunami warning has been issued to coastal areas about 300 km from the earthquake. There have been two earthquakes in the area over the past 12 hours.
According to reports from the tsunami warning, waves surfaced over a meter in some parts of New Caledonia. People in the coastal areas have been advised to leave.
