Colombo Court of Appeals today issued an interim injunction to prevent Sri Lanka's former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa from taking action under the Public Assets Act.
The court also said that the ban will be in force till the 6th of this month.
Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse filed a petition yesterday in the appeal court seeking to take action against him under Public Property Act.
The former defense secretary said in his petition that the police fraud investigation team is preparing to take action under the General Assets Act.
The petition was also pointed out that he was detained on the basis of the proceedings and was detained without charge.
Former Defense Secretary was accused of using the state funds illegally to construct the DA Rajapakse museum in Hambantota.
In this petition, some people including the Police Mafia have been represented as defendants.
The interim injunction was issued at the Colombo Court of Appeals in the presence of its chairman, Judge APP Dehideniya and Shiran Gunaratne.
